About: Giulia Fisauli

I graduated in geology at the University of Perugia. I am a PhD candidate in Volcanology at the University of Perugia, specializing in Antarctic volcanology and tephrochronology. My research focuses on the characterization and geochemical fingerprinting of tephra layers (i.e., unconsolidated pyroclastic deposits) from Northern Victoria Land, to reconstruct past volcanic activity and redraw the chronology of the area. I integrate geochemical analyses, stratigraphy, and statistical analyses to enhance the resolution and reliability of tephra-based correlations.
